Colin Cooper's comment:
Because of illness Colin Cooper could not join the
festival. Jovan Pesec sent him the result of the competition. Here
follows his comment:
"...I was very happy that Pavel Kukhta had won the prize. I've heard
him play a few times in Poland, and was always very impressed. In
Tychy last year he was very unlucky not to get into the final. I
told him so, and hope it encouraged him. Kyu-Hee Park I remember in
Koblenz, where she also got a second prize. She had a beautiful
tremolo, but I can't remember much else. I think I've heard Mathias
Lang, probably in Rust...
... Did you read Neil Smith's article in Classical Guitar, where he
said that the standard at Rust last year was the highest he had ever
heard in a competition? He loved the whole festival. It's become an
important part of my annual calendar too..."
