The International Guitar Competition "John Duarte" 2008 is dedicated to John Duarte and will take place during the festival from 16th to 20th March 2008.
Official registration Sunday 16.3.2008 - 10.00.

Ten prominent people from culture, business, politics will form the jury. They come from eight different countries.

Colin Cooper (president),  Vladimir Dozenko, Armin Egger, Norbert Dams, Heinz Irmler, Jose Montenegro,  Jovan Pesec (vice president),  Jim Skinger, Jozef Zsapka, Victoria Zhadko. 

Those competitiors who are neither active participants nor auditors have to pay a processing fee of € 73,00 for the Guitar Competition. 

First Round:

Free choice of program from 3 different epochs: 
a) renaissance or baroque,
b) classic or romantic music
c) modern music (starting with 1900)

 with a maximum length of 20 minutes (Please pay strict attention to your playing time!!!) 

Final Round:

Free choice of the  program from three different epochs (like described above), but including one composition by John W. Duarte.  Pieces from the first  round my be repeated after prior approval. Maximum total playing time 30 minutes.
Please check the Opus of John Duarte or John Duarte for Competitions and choose a piece!

Important note:  The president of the jury retains the right to interrupt any contestant's performance!
             If the jury miss one epoch in your program, you'll get 0 points for this epoch!

Prizes:

First Prize:  
Production of a Master CD with a program of winners choice (2 studio days in Vienna in studio.v4m.net) contributed by v4m.  
(This prize cannot be awarded in cash!)

EURO 1.100,00 contributed by Rotary Club Eisenstadt.

The winners of the International Guitar Competition Rust 2008 has to perform at the final concert of the festival on 20. March 2008! 
 

Those who are neither active participants nor listeners must pay in advance a processing  fee of EURO 73,00 for the Guitar Competition!
