Interview with Hans-Werner Huppertz:

Question: Who do you think is the most overrated and the most underrated composer for the classical guitar?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: Many composers for classical guitar are underrated, I think, but who am I to say which composer is overrated.

....

Question: Which „Slogan“ would you use in advertising for the classical guitar?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: „The voice of the guitar must be something between the human and the divine.“ (Francisco Tárrega)
I like this sentence by Tarrega very much, even if it is not useful as a slogan.

....

Question: With which prejudices – that are connected with the classical guitar – would you like to get rid of?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: I try not to notice prejudices.

....

Question: Which attributes do you find typical for classical guitarists?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: Most guitarrists I know are friendly, intelligent, polite, helpful...so many positive attributes, I hope they are typical.

....

Question: What things in your life do you definitely want to learn and what do you regret not having done?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: Too many...

....

Question: What dreams do you have that you would like to fulfil?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: Most of my wishes (not really dreams) have nothing to do with guitar.
...

Question: What is embarrassing for you?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: Maybe in the final consequence nothing.

......

Question: What short phrase would you use to discribe your lifes philosophy?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: "Always look on the bright side of life" (Monty Python)

.....

Question: Which abuse in your native country would you like to do away with?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: I don't know where to start.

....

Question: In relation to world history, which personalities fascinate you the most?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: Of course there are many personalities in the history and in our times, which fascinate me and many other people, but the most I'm fascinated by my 2 sons.

.....

Question: Which question would you like to be asked and what is your answer to this question?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: It should be a verbal question, because I'm not so good in typewriting.

....

Question: Which guitar virtuoso today has the makings to follow in the footsteps of Andres Segovia?

Hans-Werner Huppertz: At the moment I'm thinking more about the guitarists in which footsteps Andres Segovia followed.
But for me there are many guitarrists who did a very good job for the guitar.
