3 rd International Composers Competition for classical guitar Rust 2019 Start of the competition: 1. October 2018 (00:00 CET) Attantion! Deadline for the submission: 31. March 2019 (23:59 CET) Notice: • Top 10: published at 14 th April 2019 • Winners: published at 17 th April 2019 (GFR 2019 final concert) Subject: Composition of a piece for classical solo guitar (6 strings) with a length between 2 and 4 minutes, which can be described as an English Waltz.
The Slow Waltz, also known as English Waltz is a social and tournament dance in a ¾ time signature. The Slow Waltz is one of the classic standard dances and is usually danced at a tempo of about 30 bars per minute. The composers should create an individual, contemporary work which exceeds the limits of the usual genre, taking into account the character and the playability of the English Waltz! 2017 World Open Standard Copenhagen | The Final Reel | DanceSport Total Inspiration 2015 English Waltz | InterDance Olymp Prizes: Winner € 1.000,00 (EURO thausend) The winner of the first prize will be invited as juror to the GuitarCompetition and the ComposersCompetition of the International Guitarfestival Rust 2020 A performance of the winning composition at the Guitar Festival Rust 2020 Professional audio and video recording of this performance All competitors will receive an e-book with all submissions Registration The competition is open to all composers of all ages and nationalities! The pieces must be for a 6-string classical guitar, solo, without any kind of additive technology. The scores have to be sent separately via email to the address composerscompetition.rust@gmail.com. Score format PDF. Also a performance must be added to each submission. This can be performed either by a human player or a composition program. Recording format: MP3. The pages of the scores must be numbered and the title of the work must appear on each page. The competitors name may not appear on any page of the work or the MP3-file. The registration fee for the competition is € 55,00 (fiftyfive euros) for every contribution. Important: Registration for the competition is done as soon we get the registration fee!
